Getting the Most from Extensions and Adapters
Use extensions to reach recessed bolts; keep them straight where possible to avoid side loading. Adapters let one ratchet drive multiple socket sizes — a budget-friendly way to expand a kit. Universal joints handle angled fasteners like spark plugs, but reduce effective torque, so use them on hand tools where possible. Never use an adapter to step up to a larger drive on an impact gun beyond its rating.
