TEKTON 4009 1-Inch Malleable Iron C-Clamp, I-Beam Frame with Acme Thread Screw

Use these for welding fixtures in my shop and they hold tight every time. The malleable iron frame takes a beating without cracking. At $3.50 I bought a whole drawer full.

Solid clamping force, smooth Acme thread, no wobble. Exactly what a cheap C-clamp should be.

I've been using C-clamps for over forty years, mostly the cheap stamped ones that bend and slip. This TEKTON is different — the I-beam frame is rigid and the screw turns smooth without any binding. I glued up some chair joints last week and it held perfectly for 24 hours. Reminds me of the clamps my father had in his workshop. Bought two more after testing the first one.

Holds well and the frame feels sturdy for the price. The screw was a little gritty out of the box but a drop of oil fixed that. No complaints otherwise.

Works fine for gluing and light holding tasks. The screw pad is a bit small and can mar softer wood, so I add a scrap block. For three-fifty, it does the job.

You always need more clamps, and at this price there's no excuse. These are genuinely well made, not junk.

Over-tightened it during a glue-up and the screw bent slightly. My fault partly, but I expected more from malleable iron. Still usable for light tasks.

Picked up a few of these for my home workshop and they've earned their keep. The Acme thread gives smooth, strong clamping pressure for welds and glue-ups. The I-beam frame doesn't flex like the cheap hardware store clamps I've had before. Good value.
