TEKTON 66506 3-Piece Long Cold Chisel Set (1/2, 3/4, 1 in.), 5160 High Carbon Steel, Made in USA

The 3/4 chisel sheared a seized exhaust bolt on my truck frame that my angle grinder couldn't reach. Took a few good hits with a 3 lb sledge and it snapped right through. These are properly hardened, not the soft junk you get at the big box store.

5160 steel, made here at home, seventeen bucks. No brainer.

Edges came a little rough but a few minutes on the bench grinder sharpened them right up. After that they cut and shear like champs. The long length really helps for reaching into deep slots and stubborn pivot pins. Very happy overall.

On a farm you break chisels, that's just a fact. I've been beating on the 1 inch with a 4 lb hammer for two months now, splitting worn bushings and knocking off rusted tiller parts, and it hasn't mushroomed or chipped one bit. My grandfather always said buy good steel once. Tekton got this one right.

They work fine for punching and light chiseling. I did manage to roll the edge on the smallest one cutting a couple of hardened bolts, but to be fair that's asking a lot of any cold chisel. OK set for the money.

Genuinely impressed with these. The 5160 steel is the same stuff leaf springs are made from, so it takes a beating. Used all three sizes this weekend tearing down an old deck — sheared carriage bolts, drove out rusted lag shields, and cut a stuck padlock. The coupon made them almost free.

Heavy, well-forged, holds an edge. Exactly what a cold chisel should be.

Long reach is the selling point here — got into a tight spot on my mower deck where stubby chisels wouldn't fit. Struck ends have held up fine so far. Storage is just loose pieces, would've liked a roll or pouch, but whatever. Good steel for cheap.

The 1/2 inch had a visible chip in the cutting edge right out of the package. Return went smoothly but I shouldn't have to inspect new tools like a used lot.

For the price of a pizza you get three USA-made chisels that outperform the import junk I've been using. Rusted bolts, shear pins, old concrete drips on my foundation — this set handled everything I threw at it. Buy them before the sale ends.
