Bought this mostly for automotive work and it has not disappointed. The thinner head slides behind the engine where my old ratchet wouldn't fit, and the 5-degree swing means I rarely have to reposition. Locking flex head stays put exactly where I set it. Only minor gripe is the finish shows scratches pretty quickly.
Functionally it's excellent — the mechanism is precise and the pass-thru feature is genuinely useful. It is heavier than my standard 12-inch ratchet though, which takes some getting used to during all-day jobs.
I've been a diesel mechanic for over twenty years and this ratchet holds up to daily shop abuse. Picked this up with a coupon and it might be the best dollar-for-dollar tool I own. The arc is tight enough that I can work in cramped quarters without constantly re-seating. Wish it came with a tray or case, but that's minor.
Out of the box this was a five-star tool, but after a few months of weekend use the flex head tension got noticeably loose and now the head droops under heavier torque. The ratcheting action itself still works fine. Maybe I got a lemon, but I expected better longevity.
Used it on spark plug and brake jobs where a socket wouldn't fit over the stud. Passed right through and made quick work of the nuts. Smooth action, comfortable grip, no complaints whatsoever.
Got this as a gift from my daughter who knows I'm picky about tools. The flex head locks positively and the fine-tooth action is smooth even under load. It's become my go-to for anything requiring work in a tight engine bay. Deducting one star only because the knurling could be a bit more aggressive.
