GearWrench 80742 84-Piece Master SAE/Metric Hex and Torx Bit Socket Set, Heat-Treated Bases with Hard-Stamped Markings

Picked this up to replace three partial sets. Every bit I've reached for is there, the markings are easy to read even in bad light, and the case actually holds everything where it belongs. The heat-treated bases have taken some serious torque without a hint of deformation.

Quality is what you'd expect from GearWrench. Bits fit snug and the size stamps haven't worn off after a couple months in my truck. Only complaint is the case takes up a lot of toolbox space.

Nothing to complain about. Good coverage of SAE and metric.

Most of the set is fine but a couple of the hex bits have noticeable wobble seated in their sockets. Not enough to return it, but worth checking yours when it arrives. The stamped markings and case organization are genuinely nice.

This covers hex and Torx in both SAE and metric and it has handled everything on my German and domestic vehicles. The retention works well and I like that the markings are stamped rather than laser etched. At this price I don't think there's a better complete set out there.

Disappointed that two of the bits had surface rust out of the box. The rest were fine but for a sealed set that shouldn't happen.

Bought this for general brake and trim work. The 84 pieces cover pretty much anything automotive. Ended up ordering another set because my son claimed the first.

I do my own oil changes, brakes, and occasional timing jobs, and this set has paid for itself already. The Torx bits especially have saved me on those stubborn caliper and headlight bolts. Packaging was good and everything was accounted for on arrival.

Hard to beat 84 pieces at this price. The bases hold up to impact driver use on low settings, though I mostly use them by hand. Would buy again.
