The 90-degree tip angle makes all the difference in tight bores. Used the internal pair on a hydraulic cylinder rebuild and the ring dropped into its groove without flying across the shop. Tips are hardened and precise, and the grips don't chew up your hands.

Solid construction and the tips hold snap rings securely. The return springs take some hand strength to work against, which after a long day of rebuilding can be tiring. Otherwise no complaints, they do exactly what dedicated snap ring pliers should.

Worth every penny. Rings seat first try every time.

No bending or flex in the handles and the 90-degree angle is handy. That said, one tip chipped slightly when I got impatient with a stubborn external ring on a lawnmower axle. My fault partly, but softer alloys pliers have survived the same abuse for me.

I used those cheap convertible pliers that flip tips around and always felt loose. Having a dedicated internal and dedicated external pair is zero compromise, like the listing says. Rebuilt three tractors' worth of PTO and bearing assemblies this spring and these haven't slipped once.

The external pliers in my set had a noticeably bent shaft right out of the box. Return went smoothly but still disappointing to unbox a defect.

At my age I've learned to buy the right tool the first time. These replaced two pairs of adjustable junk that kept popping rings loose. The 7 inch length gives good leverage and the angled tips reach into housings without scraping your knuckles. Very satisfied.

Did a full front suspension job on my Honda and these handled every snap ring, from the strut cartridge rings to the CV boot clamps. Spring-loaded handles are a nice touch. Would recommend to any DIY mechanic.
