Made from heat-treated 6150 chromium-vanadium steel at 44–50 HRC — hard without being brittle — and finished with a corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate coating.
The largest sizes are lengthened for extra leverage where it matters most, so stuck large fasteners turn with less strain.
Tekton measures tolerances point-to-point and side-to-side, and chamfers edges for smooth, precise engagement with hex socket fasteners.
High-visibility laser marking plus a stamped marking keep the size readable for the life of the tool.
Compared to generic L-keys, the KLX12625 offers verified dimensional accuracy, harder 6150 steel, and dual markings. If you need other sizes in the 7/16–3/4 inch range, pair this key with additional Tekton flat end L-keys.

5/8 inch hex fasteners are no joke and this L-key handles them without flexing. The 6150 steel takes torque like a champ and the flat end seats deep. Used it on some agricultural equipment bolts that were torqued to the max, no issues.
Heavy, tough, gets the job done.
Nice big L-key for machinery work. Good finish, seats well, plenty of leverage with the long arm. Only minor gripe is the short arm could be a touch longer for tight spots, but that's a niche complaint.
Broke three cheap hex keys trying to remove seized 5/8 bolts on my utility trailer axle. This thing finally broke them loose. The steel quality is noticeably better than hardware store junk. Worth every penny at ten bucks.
Bought this for tractor implement maintenance and it hasn't let me down. The black finish has held up in my damp garage, no rust yet after two seasons. Kid keeps borrowing it for his truck, so I might need a second one.
The flat end design grips well and the steel seems quality. My only issue is the fat profile is hard on my smaller hands during long sessions. Fine for occasional use though.
I run a small machine shop and this lives in my big fastener drawer. Six months of daily use and the flats are still crisp. Tekton continues to punch above their price point.
Measures just a hair under 5/8 on my calipers, so it fits loose in some of my sockets and rounds out stubborn bolts. Might work fine for cleaner fasteners but not for seized work.
