GearWrench GWSCOPE High-Definition Flexible Inspection Borescope with 1080p Camera and 8.5mm Semi-Rigid Probe

Found the leak in two minutes. Worth it.

Connected to my Android phone in under a minute and the 1080p image is genuinely sharp. Used it to inspect inside a cylinder wall and could see the crosshatch clearly. The semi-rigid probe holds its shape well.

I use this mainly for checking behind walls and inside engines and it has paid for itself several times over. Image quality is impressive for the price and the waterproof probe handled a dip into a radiator overflow without issue. App took a minute to figure out but works fine. Battery life could be longer but it's not a dealbreaker.

As a home inspector I've used borescopes that cost four times as much and this one keeps up. The 8.5mm probe fits into weep holes and small gaps without forcing it, and the image is clear enough to document issues for my reports. LED brightness adjusts well so I'm not blowing out reflections on shiny pipes. Clients are always impressed when I can show them exactly what's going on inside a wall cavity. My only minor complaint is that the focal distance at very close range takes some getting used to.

The camera itself produces a good clear picture and the probe is flexible enough for most tasks. My frustration is with the companion software, which crashed a couple of times and doesn't save recordings as easily as it should. Hardware is good, software needs work.

I'm 68 and not great with technology, but even I had this working on my phone in five minutes. My grandson helped me look inside the lawnmower engine and we could see everything clearly. A wonderful gadget for an old tinkerer like me.

Used it to check valve carbon buildup and inspect behind the timing cover without disassembly. The picture at 1080p is clear and the probe is stiff enough to steer where I want it. Wish the LED could get a touch brighter for dark cavernous areas, but it's been reliable and accurate. Good buy at this price.

Worked well for the first few weeks, then started dropping connection mid-inspection. Very frustrating when you're halfway through a job. Might have gotten a defective unit but it's still a hassle.

Half the price of comparable borescopes and the image quality is honestly better than a more expensive unit I owned before. The 1080p feed to my laptop is smooth and lag-free. Diagnosing a clogged catalytic converter took ten minutes instead of an afternoon of disassembly. Highly recommend for DIY mechanics.
