Working on exhaust manifold bolts in an engine bay with barely 5 degrees of swing room, this ratchet saved the job. The 3 degree arc is no marketing gimmick. Locking flex head stays exactly where you set it. Best half-inch ratchet I've owned under $100.
The mechanism is beautifully smooth and the flex head locks solidly. Only complaint is it's slightly heavier than my old ratchet, noticeable during all-day use. Still highly recommended.
Best ratchet I own. The swing arc is unreal.
Functionally this ratchet is superb: fine teeth, secure lock, comfortable grip. But after two months the chrome on the head shows pitting in my salty-winter climate. My old craftsman held finish better. Performance is what matters though.
My son works at a dealership and said get the 120XP, so I did. I'm 62 and my hands aren't what they used to be. The cushion grip genuinely reduces fatigue, and the fine-tooth action means less arm movement under vehicles where you can barely swing a wrench. Worth every penny of the sale price.
Sold my big-name ratchet after using this for a month. The 120XP mechanism is smoother and the locking flex head gives access angles mine couldn't. GearWrench knocked it out of the park.
Runs smooth and strong. Just keep it out of the parts washer, mine got gritty until I oiled it. Other than maintenance fussiness, it's fantastic.
