The GearWrench 81382 3-Piece 120XP Flexing Handle Ratchet Set takes access and speed to the next level. Buy it online now for $68.58—a full 55% discount off the $153.09 compare-at price—the deal price on the fastest-swinging ratchets GearWrench makes.
The 3-piece set covers the three essential drive sizes—1/4 in., 3/8 in., and 1/2 in.—each with the 120XP flexing (flex head) handle design, so one purchase equips every socket you own.
Each ratchet comes in the standard full-length handle for its drive size: 1/4 in. drive for precision and tight access, 3/8 in. drive for general work, and 1/2 in. drive for high-torque fastening.
The 81382's 120XP ratchets feature an 11-position push-button locking flex head—locked and unlocked positions for adjustable angled access. (Note: earlier 9-position designs were superseded; this set includes the 11-position head.) The flush-mounted on/off switch preserves low-profile access.
The double-stacked pawls alternately engage a 60-tooth gear, providing 120 positions and a 3° swing arc—versus larger arcs on standard ratchets and on the 81381 series. That means faster ratcheting and the ability to work where a full swing simply doesn't exist. The 81382 adds the flexing handle design; the 81381 is the fixed-handle counterpart.
Full polish chrome resists rust and corrosion; the enclosed head design provides extreme resistance to dirt infiltration, extending ratchet life. Compact heads are up to 22% more compact than existing ratchets for better access to hard-to-reach fasteners.
Works with all standard 1/4 in., 3/8 in., and 1/2 in. drive sockets. Best-fit shoppers: automotive techs, engine builders, and anyone ratcheting in tight engine bays where every degree counts.

The 81382 pairs the 120XP double-stacked pawl mechanism with 11-position locking flex heads across 1/4 in., 3/8 in., and 1/2 in. drives. At $68.58, it's the affordable entry to GearWrench's fastest ratcheting platform.
Choose the 81382 over the fixed-handle 81381 if you work around obstructions—the flex head sets your angle and locks it. With a 3° arc, you can ratchet where a standard ratchet can't swing at all.
Standard 72-tooth ratchets need 5°+ per swing; the 120XP needs 3°. Non-flex heads force awkward wrist angles; the 11-position locking flex head doesn't. At 55% off, the 81382 is the value buy.
The set includes three 120XP flexing handle ratchets in 1/4 in., 3/8 in., and 1/2 in. drive—full coverage for every socket size you own.

The 81382 includes the 11-position push-button locking flex head with locked and unlocked settings—an upgrade over earlier 9-position designs.

The 3 degree arc is no gimmick—I can ratchet in spaces where my old ratchets needed a full quarter turn. The flexing handle adds another axis of access. This set has replaced my daily drivers permanently.
120 positions, buttery action, gorgeous polish. Best ratchets under $100.
The dual-direction lever works well but took me a week to stop flipping it accidentally. Once you adapt, the 3° arc makes tight-space work so much faster. The flexing head is genuinely useful on engine work.
I held out on the 120XP for a while thinking it was marketing fluff. It's not. Double-stacked pawls mean you barely move your wrist and the socket still advances. Pulled apart a transmission with barely any swing room and these ratchets made it possible. The full polish chrome still looks new after months of shop abuse.
The 3 degree arc really is impressive and the flex handle helps in weird spots. My complaint is the direction switch sits right where my thumb rests and I bump it more than I'd like. Fine tool overall though.
Forty years of wrenching and these are the smoothest ratchets I've ever had in my hand. The 3/8 gets the most use but all three feel identical in quality. Nothing has skipped or slipped under heavy breaker-bar style load.
No regrets at this price. The flex handle reaches around exhaust components on my truck and the fine arc is perfect for tight engine bays. Only wish the set came in a nicer case—the basic tray is forgettable.
Working on motorcycles, space is always the enemy. These get into spots I used to need a stubby plus a U-joint for. The 120 positions mean the ratchet engages almost anywhere I stop. Couldn't be happier.
