TEKTON TEK99005 Insulated Phillips, Slotted, Square Drivers and Pliers Set, VDE Insulated to 1000V AC / 1500V DC

Eight drivers plus three pliers covers about 95% of my daily work. The square drivers alone justified the purchase since so many devices and panels call for them. Tips seat deep in screw heads with no cam-out even on stubborn old breakers. The insulation is molded and feels bulletproof, rated to 1000V AC. Handles are comfortable for all-day use. Outstanding set.

The tools perform great. Square tips fit Robertson screws perfectly and the diagonal cutters snip copper like butter. The tri-lobe handle shape felt odd the first day but by day three I preferred it over round handles. Only reason it's not five stars is I wish there were one more slotted size. Otherwise a fantastic kit for the money.

Honestly surprised. I'd been using a well-known German insulated set for years and lost it in a job site shuffle. Took a chance on this Tekton set at the sale price and it matches the old one in every way that matters. Tip precision, insulation quality, cutting performance. Saved a lot of money and lost nothing.

My daughter just got her electrical license and I wanted her first set to be safe and dependable. This has everything she needs without overwhelming her. She says the pliers are easy on her hands and the drivers don't slip. Knowing the VDE rating is real gives this old wireman peace of mind.

The drivers and pliers themselves are quality, no argument. But they arrived loose in a torn box with no storage solution included, which is odd at this price point. I've since bought a separate roll pouch. Tool performance is a 5, packaging is a 1, averaging it out.

Most insulated sets skip square drivers entirely, so finding them included was the deciding factor. The #2 square fits panel screws perfectly and doesn't round out like a worn Phillips would. All three pliers are smooth with zero handle flex. The insulation looks molded on, not slip-fit. This set is going to outlast my career.

The eight screwdrivers are genuinely great, but the diagonal cutters on mine don't meet cleanly at the tips, leaving a little nick in the wire on every cut. For electrical work clean cuts matter. Everything else in the set earns five stars, so this is a QC miss on one tool that colors the whole purchase.

I'm not a pro, just a homeowner who does his own panel upgrades and fixture swaps, and even I understand why insulated tools matter. This set made me feel properly equipped for the first time. The $67 price with the coupon made it an easy call. Pros might want more driver sizes, but for a serious DIYer this is exactly right.
